Rules
Livornoclassica Music Association announces the 9th edition of Premio Enrico Galletta.
The competitions features two age categories:
Category, A up to 14 years old (under 15 at the date of the application deadline)
Category B, up to 18 years old (under 19 at the date of the application deadline)
For both categories the competition consists of two rounds:
- First Round online : link to a video to be sent with the application.
- Final round in person: will take place in Livorno at Teatro Goldoni, Sala Goldonetta on Saturday, October 18, 2025 in the afternoon in front of the jury.
- Participation of the winner (premio Galletta 2025) at the prizewinner concert at Teatro Goldoni, Sala Goldonetta Sunday, October 19.
Livornoclassica reserves the right to make changes or additions to the rulement or cancel the Competition due to force majeure. In this case Livornoclassica will entirely refund the inscription fees.
Audience is allowed at all stages of the competition.
Eligibility
Young pianists of all nationalities may apply.
Candidates who have family relationship or have had continuous teaching relationships with one or more jury members will not be admitted to the Competition. Occasional participation at masterclass will not be cause of exclusion.
Notifications
Each contestant will be informed by email about the inscription, result of Pre-selection round, rehearsal and audition schedule; absence at check-in without any justified reason will determine the exclusion from the competition.
Auditions will take place in alphabetic order, according to the drawing of the letter which will published together with the Finalist’s list.
Travel and accomodation
Travel and accommodation expenses are borne by the competitors. All facilities and agreements with hotels, B&B, private apartments will be forwarded by email by the LPC secretary.
Musical program
ONLINE PRESELECTION
Category A: video with a maximum duration of 10 minutes
Category B: video with a maximum duration of 12 minutes
contestant’s free choice
It is allowed to exceed this limit only in case of a single piece lasting more than 10 minutes.
Contestants will send a link to a video on You Tube or other platforms (either public or private videos are accepted); a fixed shooting angle and clear visibility of face and hands are required. The performed pieces, if more than one, can either be all in the same recording session or recorded separately; there must not be any cut inside a single piece or movement.
Multi camera videos are accepted only if they contain a professional recording made during piano competitions by the organization (specify the name of the competition).
The First round program can be repeated, at contestant’s choice, during the Final in Livorno
Up to 15 contestants will be selected for the final stage.
FINAL STAGE
Category A: Program of max 15 minutes at contestant’s free choice. Only exception can be made in case of a work in a single movement which by no means can exceed by more than 2 minutes.
Category B: Program of max 20 minutes at contestant’s free choice. Only exception can be made in case of a work in a single movement which by no means can exceed by more than 2 minutes
Jury and voting system
The jury’s decision is irrevocable. The jury reserves the right to stop the performance in case the time limit be exceeded.
After the end of the Competition the results of the finals with the choices made by each juror will be displayed on Livorno Piano Competition’s website.
Registration implies unconditional compliance with every part of the rulement.
Application and participation
Applications will be accepted starting from June, 1th until July, 17th 2025 at 24:00 italian hour. The application form, downloadable in the “application” section of this website, must be filled and sent by email at segreteria@livornopianocompetition.com together with all the required documents and the link to the video for the First round. Specify in the “object” filed of the email: “application to YoungLPC- Premio Enrico Galletta 2025”.z
The receipt of payment of the inscription/association fee of 70 euros, net of bank expenses, must be attached to the email, as association fee at Livornoclassica.
Before August 9th contestants will be notified by email the result of the Preselection round . At the end of the preselection precedure the contestants’ list will be published on the competition’s website.
Registration implies unconditional compliance with every part of the rulement.

ABSOLUTE WINNER
Young LPC Premio ENRICO GALLETTA will be the contestant who, being First prize of Cat. A or B, will report the highest mark
The amount of 700 euros, Diploma and Plate will be added to the First Prize

All particiapants at the Finals round will be awarded a Finalist Diploma.
The First prize winner will be asked to perform, on pain of loss of the prize, on October 19 during the ceremony.
First prizes can be awarded ex-aequo while only one contestant will be the winner of Youg LPC Premio Enrico Galletta ; in case of tie the Jury will vote again in order to assign it.
Other Special prizes may be awarded. The Jury reserves the right not to award prizes.
* Money prizes will be awarded gross of the withholding tax.
Privacy
Candidates with the inscription authorize LIVORNOCLASSICA, pursuant to art . 97 of the Law on copyright, to make audio-video recordings of their performance and feature it on any digital platform (YouTube or others) and to publish photos in promotional material of the Association . In relation to this candidates cannot advance any right or financial request towards Livornoclassica .
According to art. 13 and 14 of GDPR (UE 2016/679 About Privacy) all data provided at registration will be used only to send communications related to the contest excluding any other use.
The organization accepts no liability in respect of any injury to persons and / or property during the course of the competition.
