General Rules



Art. 1

LIVORNOCLASSICA Music Association announces the Fourth Edition of Livorno Piano Competition and Young Livorno Piano Competition / Premio Enrico Galletta.

The two competitions will take place in Livorno from January 21 to 26, 2020 and will be held in Teatro Goldoni, Sala Goldonetta.

Art. 2


Candidates with the inscription authorize LIVORNOCLASSICA, pursuant to art . 97 of the Law on copyright, to make audio-video recordings of their performance and feature it on any platform linked to the association ( YouTube or others) and to publish photos in promotional material of the Association . In relation to this candidates cannot advance any right or financial request towards Livornoclassica .

According to art. 13 and 14 of GDPR (UE 2016/679 About Privacy) all data provided at registration will be used only to send communications related to the contest excluding any other use.

The organization accepts no liability in respect of any injury to persons and / or property during the course of the competition.


Art. 3

Registration implies unconditional compliance with this rulement .

Livornoclassica reserves the right to make changes or additions to this rules and eventually to cancel one or more sections if the number of contestants will be considered not sufficient.

On the contrary, in case of an excessive number, incompatible with the scheduled audition time during the competition, the Artistic Direction may proceed to a selection based upon the CV provided by the contestants. Admission will be notified right after the deadline of inscriptions. The entire fee will be immediately refunded in case of non-acceptance.


Art. 4


Each contestant will be informed by email about the day and hour scheduled for check-in, rehearsal on the stage piano, and audition; absence at check-in without any justified reason will determine theexclusion from the competition.

Rooms with pianos to practice during the competition will be provided.

Auditions will take place in alphabetic order, according to he drawing of the letter which will be done right after the deadline. A detailed performance schedule will be published.


Art. 5

Travel and accomodation

Travel and accommodation expenses are borne by the competitors. All facilities and agreements with hotels, private apartments and restaurants will be provided and can be checked in the INFOsection of this website.

A number of free places in hosting families will be offered only to Livorno Piano Competition contestants who will make specific request, according to the order of arrival of the applications, until exaustion of the available places.


Art. 6


The jury will be composed of eminent musicians. Candidates who have family relationship or, within five years prior to the competition, have had continuous teaching relationships with one or more jury members will not be admitted to participate at any section of Livorno Piano Competition.  Occasional participation at masterclass will not be cause of exclusion.

The jury’s decision is irrevocable. The jury reserves the right to stop the performance in case the time limit be exceeded. All performances are public.
